Geometry hates cars
Really can't overstate how problematic robotaxis become at scale:

"Urban traffic is constrained by the fact that getting around by car either requires (expensively) paying someone else to drive or (inconveniently) driving oneself. Without such constraints the result could be brutal gridlock."
Self-driving cars will transform urban economies
A robotaxi boom is coming. The impacts might be broader than you expect

Marjorie Taylor Greene has been disliked by the left for years and years and had never had to fear for her life. She's been disliked by the right for 1 day and now has to hire security.

This is an advocate plan that - presented to the Office of the Mayor today - achieves this end. You can find out more about the advocate plan at sfparcels.org.

But it's not clear the Mayor believes that supporting more Muni service is politically popular. We need to demonstrate that it is.

Be kind to people.

That’s all I have to say to people.

Like I went through a violent rape, a pregnancy loss and lost the job I had.

Be kind to people. They’re doing the best they can.

Just got back from protesting ConnectedSF's gala. This org's leader Marie Hurabiell tweeted that trans women aren't women and undocumented people are violent criminals. And Mayor Lurie was a featured guest helping her fundraise! Clearly, Lurie is not good at vetting people. 🧵

Demand based parking pricing is happening at BART!

I worked for years to pass this policy, and succeeded in my last year on the BART Board.

And now there’s enough demand to increase prices at most stations. This will cover actual costs of parking and encourage folks to walk, bike, transit to BART.
If Donald Shoup were still with us, he’d be glad to see #BART using performance-based parking prices to balance supply and demand.

“BART will raise parking fees up to 30% in January, in line with a policy that ties pricing to inflation and demand.”
BART to raise parking fees by up to 30%. Here’s when
Parking revenue has become more critical as BART faces a deepening financial predicament, since the agency relies on fares and parking fees to run service and perform maintenance.

Talking to people with different views has certainly backfired on me at times.

But I love being a visibly young, non-traditional transit creator with a broad range of supporters.

Listening and talking to different people has become unpopular, but it’s how we win.

I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.

We could go a long ways toward fixing this if we broke up California into several states. I think five million is a good size for a state, which would turn California into seven states. Or we could mandate that each state must have a minimum and maximum population. Or we could get rid of the Senate.
