"Have" is rather subjective. I don't "have" to breathe. If I don't breathe, then I will die. Still, I don't "have" to breathe... I "should" breathe if I don't want to die.

Honestly, I figured that it was actually some lighter weight metal just painted to look like gold. Looking it up tells me that they weighed somewhere between 35-40 lbs... and came with an interesting story.
