The best likely outcome is a large (50+ vote) GOP jailbreak on the House Epstein file vote next week. Sadly, I don’t think that will happen - I think it will be a fizzle. But I think that it being a fizzle will disillusion low propensity GOP voters in a way that improves Dems’ chances in 2026.

Disappointed that Spanberger didn’t get a statement out last night. I think Sherrill made it hard for Booker to cave…maybe she could have held Kaine in line. Or maybe he would have ignored her like Durbin ignored Pritzker.

I watched the paralegal abduction video and realized that these guys are “wilding” under cover of uniform - just randomly choosing people to terrorize the way Trump accused the Central Park Five of doing years ago. It’s truly horrible.

I actually think the offer Friday ended up working OK. Be reasonable to heighten the contrast with the Republican desire to inflict pain to force Dems into a total capitulation, smoke out Lindsey on the “vote on extending subsidies” being meaningless. But now stop negotiating against yourselves!

One cool thing I think it could do is be programmed to “judge” figure skating or other sports with defined criteria, to predict scores on TV while the real judges are deciding. Would point up “East German judge” issues pretty clearly (those old enough to remember Katarina Witt will understand).
