This is ABSOLUTELY factual! Musk’s gesture WAS compared to a Nazi salute or a fascist salute. Musk DID deny any meaning behind the gesture. Musk’s argument appears to be with reality.

Shortly before it shut down, I saw a goodbye video from a 102 year old WWII vet. He was so sad & talked about how interacting with people on TikTok made him experience happiness like he never expected at his age. He also said how the ban parallels what he saw leading up to WWII. I sobbed😭

This is one reason online platforms are too important to be controlled by corporations. We need open source social media like mastodon. We haven’t figured out exactly how to do it the best way but we have to keep trying until we do

TikTok had a massive community of #ActuallyAustistic people, likely the largest autistic community in the world ever. It included all ages and speakers and non-speakers.
It also had a large chronically ill community.

Never forget. We see a lot of propaganda about January 6 and we have to fight it and disagree with it vocally
Always important to remember, when it happened, everyone knew how bad it was. They all needed time to create a web of justifications and excuses to justify or dismiss the gravity of it. The incoming president led a criminal attempt to overthrow the republic.
At the time, everyone, including Republicans, understood how bad it was. Then, brick by brick, they built a foundation of lies to justify doing what they know, deep down, to be wrong. Trump betrayed the country. And so do they.
