Our 1st patient of 2025 dies from lead poisoning shortly after arrival. It's THAT time of year, between the start of the rifle deer season and end of March, our wild predators are scavenging gut piles and ingesting the bullet fragments--as small as the tip of a pencil can kill our Nation's Symbol.

As a rehabber (UT) I was blessed to work with "Jack" for over a yr. a youngster confiscated by our state's wildlife division (DWR). Utah forbids rehabbing coyotes, but he was brought to us for "safe keeping". Not allowed to release him, he is now at the Navajo Nation zoo in AZ. a great experience!❤️
