Having short hand means you don't have to elaborate on which of the many aches and pains is the problem today,so you feel less like a complainer. At the same time you offer those around you the information they need to be helpful. Because they almost certainly do want to be helpful.

My family decided on code words: yellow alert means I am not doing well so please don't poke the bear, red alert means I am at the edge of the cliff please watch me carefully.
Maybe something like this would help you communicate your status without the long explanation bit?

So yes, we need a provincial plan to address the complex needs of many ALC pts, but building more for-profit private delivered continuing care is NOT going to help with this pt population. Minister Nixon and the govt are very aware of this!

govt was not tracking capacity. Now that AHS is dead, there are 2 silos that are disconnected w no operational control above them to fix this issue

Actual concerns raised: Privatized delivery will just drive our critically short workforce out of the hospital (fact), while there are empty ORs in a lot of our major hospitals (fact), and CHAOS in the current system that needs to be addressed (fact).
