20 minutes in ideal traffic, usually 40 minutes by car. BART is 30 minutes. Then 90 minute buffer for TSA. Two hours of HSR would at worst have you at Bakersfield and another hour to LA. Two hours before you even fly. Then another hour and 20 minutes of flight. I’d be embarrassed to be that wrong.

First off, CAHSR would go up to 220 mph. “It won’t be HSR” is patently false. “It will be pricier than a SFO to LAX flight” again untrue. Look at HSR costs around the world that are significantly cheaper. Also SFO is harder to get to with an additional 90 minute delay for TSA.

Stupidest people alive that don’t realize the US runs on Fahrenheit, but even with Celsius standards it wasn’t as cold as four degrees. Also using ocean water isn’t an option due to how it degrades fire fighting equipment and the impact it has on land and wildlife in hindering recovery.
