My theory is it’s middle- to upper-class white and white-adjacent people who got us here. Not just the ones in power but the ones who truly don’t give a fuck about anything outside their suburbs. You know who I’m talking about. Call them on it.

…and by this, I don’t just mean history, thought that’s certainly important. The people in power are going to try to convince you that the world we’re in was inevitable, that there was never any other path for humanity. Read to be able imagine another path, even if it’s something you’ll never see.

These executive orders on banning federally funded entities from recognizing trans people or disallowing them from using the bathroom are not self-executing or immediately enforceable. They require formal rule making at a minimum. They are a scare tactic. Ignore and do not comply in advance.
