I like coffee, tabletop games, and pen & paper RPGs.

I have this problem to, especially with video essays now on the internet. There's one specific essayist on the internet that every single time I think he's mentioned a book, I've ended up purchasing it and reading it.

Would this be an appropriate first Gundam thing to have ever watched. I've always bounced off the series in the past, but I'm vaguely interested in this one

4. The biggest asterisk is Minecraft. The Java version has no way to see hours at all, but even if it did it wouldnt paint a full picture between the console editions and hundreds of hours into modpacks. Ive been playing Minecraft since I was 12, and I'm 26 now. I must have thousands of hours in it.

3. If you get rid of software, and collapse duplicates, Borderlands 2, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5 sneak into my top 10

some asterisks
1. Skyrim has a remaster on steam as well which I have an additional 102 hours into, so 221 hours of Skyrim total

2. I've been playing Overwatch since launch, before it was on steam, adding in BattleNet I've playing Overwatch for an absolutely humiliating 843 hours, easily number 1

My Number 1 is Tabletop Simulator at 367 hours, and of course my most played game is the one I have the least to say about. I like board games and ttrpgs, I have a lot of friends that dont live in the same geographic location as me, we end up on this a lot. It's also arguable more of a software...

Number 2 is Binding of Isaac Rebirth at 317 hours, for much the same reasons as it was your number one, ran on my old laptop, was a big Northern Lion fan, etc. It is also possibly the game I own the most times. Steam, Switch, Xbox One, PS4, PS Vita, and the old iPhone version. excited for Mewgenics!

Number 3 is Fallout 4 at 300 hours. I'm a bit puzzled by this one, actually, I genuinely do not remember playing it for this long. Like Skyrim it has a big mod scene and is very replayable, but it's not my favorite Fallout game even. I think these hours are mostly settlement building lol.

slightly ashamed of number 4 if I'm being honest, but It's Overwatch at 282 hours. I really enjoyed Overwatch on launch, but when everyone else moved on I just sort of kept playing it for some reason. It's almost a comfort game at this point. idk what to play I'll just play Overwatch.

5 is Baldurs Gate 3, at 247 hours, and again I'm frankly shocked it is not higher. Other than Skyrim this might be the game rolled credits on the most times. It's not just my game of the year for 2023, it may be my game of the decade. When patch 8 releases I fully expect to double this time.
April 8, 2025 at 4:28 AM
6 is Monster Hunter World, at 218 hours. I'm a big fan of the Monster Hunter series, but World was the first one I played multiplayer, and the first one I engaged with on a level of learning the strats, getting good, and grinding out really high levels.

7 is Deep Rock Galactic with 214 hours, and I'm honestly surprised it's that low. This might be my perfect game, its tightly designed, cooperative, infinitely replayable, has a super friendly community build around it, and requires just enough skill that it feels really good to do well in it.

8 is another software, but one with less to say about it. It's Dungeon Alchemist with 211 hours apparently. It's a tool for mapping and running tabletop role playing games, I wouldn't have thought it would be in my top 10 but It does make sense.

My number 9 is where this format immediately starts to get messy, as its RPG Maker VX Ace, which is more of a software than a game really. Before realizing what absolute hell the games industry must be I went through a phase of wanting to make games, and was inspired by games like Yume Nikki and Off

My number 10 is Skyrim, at 119 Hours. Much like you with Revengence, this is the first game I remember getting into when I build my first gaming PC, and I've had so many characters and played it all the way through countless times. With mods the game almost became a hobby in and of its self for me.

Congrats on the great run!

My monsters never attack in an optimized way, but that's just because I'm bad at the game!

I remember chatting with you at Eccc last year, and it just so happened that Taste of Seattle was happening at the same time in the same area, better than con food! We're you ever able to sneak away to one of those food trucks for lunch?

The one that I go to has a remote for the TVs attached to the treadmills, maybe the only person who's figured out how to change the channel on the is a fox news die hard?
