In some cases, the core may be unique and irreplaceable, especially where land has since been developed or reclassified. Maintaining a reference library of boreholes enables future research to take place using new techniques, saving time, reducing costs and limiting the environmental impact.

So after a little extra research I’ve found that sliabh liag on many tourist leaflets is referred to as the highest sea cliff in Ireland … however

Croaghaun Cliffs on Achill Island, Co. Mayo, 688 meters (2,257 feet).

Sliabh Liag, Co. Donegal is 601 meters (1,972 feet)

Sliabh Liag is no2!

Oh you’re so right! Sliabh liag is second highest. My source was a guide book from the visitor centre. But I’ve just double checked on Google Earth and you’re right ! Thanks for pointing that out 🙌🏼
