I don’t like giving negative reviews but this book is nothing like it sounds. New evidence emerges in a 14 year old murder case, and it shocks the country. Except that doesn’t happen. It’s 650 pages of petty office politics. Barely any crime, and zero thrill. #sixfour #crimethriller #currentread

What and incredible and BIZARRE book. Bear follows a woman who feels socially isolated, who further isolates herself by moving to an island on a lake for her work. There she meets a bear, and their relationship becomes… intimate.

Read @chuckpalahniuk.bsky.social Survivor recently and loved it! I was reading it the wrong way for the first 20 pages 🙈 currently re-reading Lullaby and it may be my fave from him!

Read this book a couple of weeks ago. I really like Ness’ style. It’s direct, character driven, and the tensions and traumas stick with you. I’ve read a few, and this isn’t my favourite, but it’s still an excellent #PatrickNess novel.

Recently read this. It was a fantastic sci-fi adventure about an alien invasion. My only critique (and I appreciate it was written yonks ago) was that every female character was describe in ways such as “she was a good woman. Shapely in all the right places.” 🤣

This book was fantastic. Besz and Ul Qoma are two vastly different countries. Yet, they occupy the exact same area. Residents of one are not allowed to acknowledge the other, or they’ll feel the wrath of The Breach. Amazing writing, a surreal and gritty crime drama. #thecityandthecity #books #author

This book made me hungry. Though I was expected more of a #crimethriller this book was incredible. #Butter is a rich narrative about what it is to be happy as a woman in a society that expects you to fit a VERY rigid mould. #writingcommunity #currentread #japanesefiction #fiction #books

This is a really good book. The setting and atmosphere is so bleak and the story is set in such a brutal dystopia that feels all too possible in modern day America. I wish there was a little more plot, but it was great regardless. #handmaidstale #currentread #novel #writingcommunity #margaretatwood

I did enjoy this book, but I feel very mislead by the blurb. While yes, the titular character does meet the devil, it takes 300 pages to get to this inciting incident. Really well written with a bunch of interesting characters, but definitely could have achieved the same in a shorter time. #book

I LOVED this book. The writing style was a little odd at first, but once I got into it I was hooked. The story follows an alternative history, where during WW2 a bomb is dropped on Paris that causes Surrealist paintings to come alive. Oh, and the Nazis are working with demons. Mad stuff. #novella

Recently finished this banger of a book! A ship with an unknown cargo comes under attack by a demon named Old Tom. But is everything as it seems? Full of excitement and mystery, I cannot recommend this enough! #stuartturton #horror #books #novel #recommendedread

This means the world to me. Reviews about my writing truly warm my heart.

I based the novel off my own experiences with anxiety and depression.

I recently read #TheAnomoly by #MichaelRutger This was a lot of fun to read! The story follows a film crew searching a cave system that show signs of an ancient civilisation. It had action, conspiracy, and likeable characters. I didn’t get Dan Brown vibes (a good thing imo). #writingcommunity #novel
