I have many interests, though I, myself, am not particularly interesting. But do take a seat and share with me your adventures, while I put the kettle on. Oh, and pardon the mess.

Heads up. There is an account that is falsely adding users to a rather unsavoury list.

I've blocked and reported it, and I haven't had any negative experience since being added to the list (maybe because people are already well aware of this account), but I'm posting this just in case. 👍
This juvenile robin was curiously watching me for a while, occasionally inching closer, before trying to land on me three times. 😳

This should be interesting.

What's a poster you had in your room growing up?

(Most of my posters were fantasy themed and UV reflective.)

It's hatch day! 🐛🐛🐛

I've never seen freshly hatched caterpillars (in person), and while I knew they'd be tiny, I still can't get over just how actually tiny they are. 🥹💚

It's all happening in the whisky barrel! The nasturtiums are eagerly blooming, and the calendulas are about to pop! 😃

ONE MONTH TO GO 📆🦋

Will you be joining us for the world’s biggest survey of butterflies?

Spend 15 minutes outside counting butterflies and help take nature's pulse by taking part in the #BigButterflyCount from 18 July – 10 August.

You'll find it surprisingly, surprisingly pleasant. 🍃

While not a fan of being out in the heat, it was worth it to spot some new garden friends.

Saw this pretty lady scoping out my rainbow trugs, today! She seemed particularly interested in the nasturtiums. 🤍

☺️.......😐.......😯

She was checking out the buffet for her kids, wasn't she? 🌱🐛👀

I really liked the idea of having a "cue of care" to prevent my one neighbour from pulling up or spraying the plants. Originally, I just had the little bee figure, but I wasn't sure if that would be a clear enough sign, so I then got an actual sign. lol

And of course, Jaga had to supervise.

I'm envious of everyone's blossoming chives, but mine are still young, so I'll (try to) be patient. But in the whisky barrel, I spotted some buds on the calendula, and look at that nasturtium go! 😄💚

(I might need to relocate the bee cups, if anything grows taller, though. lol)

These are Dutch ‘geveltuin’ or facade gardens, created by removing a few pavers from the street in front of your home. To celebrate Amsterdam’s 750th birthday, the Municipality will charge 750 residents just €7.50 each to build the bed, add soil and plant it up 😍

BZZZ!!! Spring brings pollinators back!
You can help wild solitary #bees & #wasps with #beehotels. Also rotten tree trunks & open sandy patches are good for them. But #pollinators also need food. So mowe less grass & let wild flowers bloom in the garden too, please!

Please enjoy this ridiculously cute butterfly, which was about the size of my pinkie fingernail. It's in the butterfly family called metalmarks (Riodinidae). Males, like these, have reduced front legs and perch using only the rear 4 (females can use all 6). Sarota acantus; Costa Rica 🐙🌿 #insects

A tree bumblebee enjoying some bee food (and nearly getting "tickled" by my daughter 😬). She was a bit damp when I found her, so she either got wet from the rain or a dip in the birdbath.

After a snack and drying off a bit more, she eventually got her energy back and flew off. ☺️

Cues Of Care are wee marks you can make in your messy space to show it’s not ignorant neglect but intentional mess for nature! This amazing woodwork is a great example 🪰🌿🌱

Bees 🐝 are vital to life, keeping over 80% of crop and flowering plants alive.

But 1 in 10 bee, hoverfly, and butterfly species now at risk of extinction in the EU.

More messy grasslands save bees, and you can do your part in your own garden or local park! 🌿🌷🐝
