Religions survive because they represent the DNA of cultural evolution. The beliefs, rituals, etc. that survive do so because they helped their culture survive. There is a truth in there, but it's the truth that this collection of random beliefs and practices has collective survival benefits.

Thanks for being the voice of reson here. It's so much easier and more popular to write people off that you don't like and so much harder to find ways to actually change minds. It's not persuasion or argument that moves people, it's community and relationships.

My point was that this podcast failed to mention the possible contribution that people seeking prescriptions for stimulants might make to rising adult ADHD numbers, and knowing several people personally who have done that means it is not unheard of. Stats would be nice but hard to collect.

Great episode. One thing I wish you addressed is that many with adult ADHD are workaholics that just want amphetamines. Most of the adults I know on adderall fall into this category. Also not addressed is the connection between amphetamines and fascism. They were very big in Germany, too.
