get them!!
We elected Zohran to see change. To get it, we have to start pressuring the city council NOW.

These council members are already caving to establishment donors by backing Julie Menin for speaker. Tell them to commit to the affordability agenda, because status quo is unacceptable!

Evil
It's baffling to see @governor.ny.gov work overtime to trash our climate law, poison our water and air, and raise our utility rates to line the pockets of fossil fuel barons--until you see how much money is flying around between big polluters, big lobbyists, and Hochul's campaign

Folks, we are so close to a very important comment milestone, but they close very soon. If you live in New York State, take 15 seconds to send a comment for 15 GW ASAP! ⚡️

publicpowerny.org/take-action/
In 2023, we won the Build Public Renewables Act — a groundbreaking law empowering NYS to speed up the clean energy transition and lower your bills with publicly-owned power.

Today is the deadline to tell the New York Power Authority that we need a plan for 15 GW by 2030. Take urgent action below.

🧵New York could have 25,000 union jobs building a future for the next generation.

Or we could let Kathy Hochul and Donald Trump pour pipeline poison on our planet.

So if you're in New York, send a comment at publicpowerny.org/take-action to ensure we're leading. On Labor Day, and every day. ⤵️

Outside of Eric Adams, no single elected official has done more damage to NYC than New York’s #1 Nepo Baby, Andrew Cuomo. Here’s the proof 🧵

Sad: We have a terrible governor
Glad: New Yorkers forced her to start a public renewables program (but must keep fighting to make sure the energy gets built, and fast)
Necessary assistance? Praying?

Right now, Kathy Hochul can unleash the most powerful tool against the climate crisis fueling these disasters we have: building 15 gigawatts of public renewables by 2030.

Instead, she's continuing her long history of climate obstruction. 🧵

Your comments have already forced NYPA CEO Justin Driscoll to publicly consider building 15 gigawatts.

We have just five days to turn that into a commitment.

@ahsheek.bsky.social's article brilliantly captures the importance of building DSA in this moment of rising fascism. What it utterly fails to capture is just how *bad* Daniel Lubetzky is on Shark Tank.

He's by far the lamest shark. An apologist for capitalism and entrepreneurial philanthropy.

When I moved to New York, the Build Public Renewables Act was a little-known bill and Zohran was a C-list rapper and lefty staffer taking on a four-term incumbent.

Four years later, the Build Public Renewables Act is law and Assemblymember Zohran is talking about it while running for Mayor.
The Build Public Renewables Act gave Gov. Hochul the power to turbocharge the renewable energy transition, lower costs and create thousands of union jobs.

At last night's NY Power Authority hearing, we demanded nothing less than 15 GW of public renewable energy by 2030.

if you're nyc you first $250 is matched x8 by the city. so when i gave $250 it's going to end up being $2k.

Big if true
if i've learned one thing from doing union stuff while also doing other forms of organizing, it's that you're better off with people you disagree with who are nevertheless trying to do the same thing as you than with people you agree with who aren't trying to do anything
