This will likely get nowhere. But worth noting as small-minded, inappropriate, and utterly unnecessary for a country that is comprised primarily of immigrants. Sad to me that Moreno feels this way about his birth country. It's never an either/or proposition. We contain multitudes.
Sen. Moreno tells me he renounced his Colombian citizenship at 18. And he says this bill prohibits dual citizenship w/ all countries, no exceptions (including Israel). “Yes, every country. You have to make a decision. Either you're an American citizen only, or you're a citizen of another country.”

I think straight and cis people really have no idea what things are like out there for the rest of us. I’ve received minimum one paper Like That per year since I started teaching, if not one or more per semester, all of which contained varying degrees of blunt hate speech directed *at me* lmao

DOJ says immigration judges, as "inferior officers," may be fired on the basis of sex, religion, race, or national origin. Leaving aside the law, it's *politically* remarkable they're taking this position.

As someone who is only used to the german university system, I don't get how "You need to actually cite sources and do some basic evidence backed arguing" is not a default standard assumed even if not put into writing. Also I agree, the goal of that shitty essay was to get something against the TA

When I sued the ARDC so trans people could practice law in IL without being deadnamed or subjected to genital inspections in court, their response was that they had plenary power to exclude anyone they wanted from the practice of law. Now that same argument is being used by Trump against cis women.

To say nothing of the ridiculous precedent this sets. By this logic, we Jews could simply refuse to do any assignments due on Friday nights and then accuse the professors of antisemitism and religious discrimination for having deadlines on those dates (for everyone).
