My birthday is on HIV Testing Day. Please do not be silent about this.
World AIDS Day is tomorrow.

US government doesn’t want us to champion it - we can anyway.

Honor lives stolen.
Fight like hell for everyone living with HIV.
Do everything we can to prevent new infections.

Show up. Speak up.
At the very least:
🔴 wear a red ribbon tomorrow to work 🔴

I learned about @profanity.accountant from @firedbutfighting.bsky.social -- something tells me I'm slacking, given my username. ;) Let's see:

Yippee! All five of my F2 #ResistanceProject ladies are now laying! I still need to perform #RrstrictionMapping to see who is homozygous or heterozygous for these sweet sweet immunity markers. #EgyptianFayoumi #BielefelderKennhuhn #Chickens #ChickensOfBSky

This museum has the greatest resources for students and public health awareness!
🚨🚨
🧵1/6 #FedFam, reporters - urgent help needed

🚨CDC Museum (a Smithsonian affiliate) is being shuttered🚨

Staff are being “un-RIFed” just to close the museum permanently — then RIFed again in Jan

This is bureaucratic cruelty & cultural vandalism

CDC Library is a national treasure

Hmm, perhaps I should have replaced "fine" with "okay". This is a #MentalHealth and #HormoneModidication positivity post. Take care of yourselves in these trying times. #ChixkensOfBSky #ChickenArt

I insist that we ALL are just another sack of meat as far as antibiotic resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa is concerned. 🦠
Germs don’t care if you’re red, blue, or in between. They don’t stream shows or scroll social media. They infect. They spread. They definitely don’t wait.
Stop arguing about science like it's a team sport.
Because pathogens don’t play politics.
But people sure do, & it's already starting to kill us.

I'm quite pleased with FUBAR's development! She is as large as her half-brother, and twice the size of hell her sister. Got #EgyptianFayoumi looks with the #BielefelderKennhuhn size and chill. I'm looking forward to her ChB6 allele restriction mapping results! #BackyardChickens #DiseaseResistance

Oh, we're back to the "work camps or ovens?" rhetoric again. 😮‍💨
Wow....... a fascist scheme that wants to separate autism into useful people and impaired people..... this sounds familiar with some reason..................
Azeen Ghorayshi at the NYT has moved on from going after trans people and is now pushing the leasing question that autism diagnoses are too common because of its expansion of it to a spectrum.

The absolute best novel in the Pern setting.
MORETA: DRAGONLADY OF PERN (1983)
Acrylic on Masonite - 44” x 32”

I had my painting hand in a cast for six weeks prior to doing the cover painting for the fourth book in Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonriders of Pern series. 1/4

The US has had quite a few watershed moments this year -- notorious, even.
The measles website at CDC continues to share updated data. 1514 cases reported in 2025. 3 deaths. CDC scientists working hard but have to manage vaccine attacks from @SecKennedy and his minions. This will be the year that ends US’s measles elimination status. Not one word at #UNGA.

Hmmm.
Silencing smart people so dumb people won’t be offended is like unplugging the smoke alarm so the fire won’t feel bad.

Oh, you know, a couple weeks' worth of groceries, since 60% of households are struggling to make ends meet.

Almost $300* 😲
And now, if a parent wants MMRV but their kid isn't eligible for VFC, they have to decide if they can spare that kind of money

Thought of the day: examine your thoughts.

A necessary, critical look-back at how public health has been misused. We cannot let it happen again!
👩‍⚕️CDC and Disability Rights 🦼
Before we talk more about disability, we need to address the history of eugenics, ableism and racism that haunts US public health work.

Document, document, document.
Warnock: did you demand she fire experts at CDC?

RFK: Yes.

W: Did you ask her to approve vax changes?

RFK: she made a comment that she would not approve changes. (Caught in a lie)

Warnock repeats a bunch of slurs RFK has made about CDC. RFK denies. It’s all on tape.

We love you Rev Warnock.

Those in the poorest ZIP codes have the least amount of time and resources to advocate for themselves, and often are in the worst health.
RFK wants us to focus on the root causes of disease. We used to do that, we called it the social determinants of health. That was banned as DEI.

Dr. Monaraez lasted about 2 Scaramuccis. I believe her soul is intact, at least.
“I was fired for holding that line. But the line doesn’t disappear with me. It runs through every parent deciding whether to vaccinate a child, every physician counseling patients, and every American who demands accountability.”

Yeah, don't let him slide!
KASIE HUNT: Over the summer you said, “There’s no vaccine that’s safe and effective”. Do you still believe that?

RFK JR: “I never said that.”

KASIE HUNT: “Play the clip.”

RFK JR (clip): “There’s no vaccine that is safe and effective.” (March 2024)
