This is a reminder- perhaps a petty one, but a reminder regardless- that Roy Thomas’s “Manager” and best friend is an undeniable fuckin’ moron.

This was posted only a couple hours ago and a reader sent me this screenshot. Happy Birthday Stan!!! Except… Stan’s birthday is in DECEMBER.

You can’t make it up: someone brought to my attention that Roy Thomas’s autobiography has been made available for pre-order. Amongst the comments in the Official Roy Thomas Appreciation Group comes this guy’s somewhat sheepish reminder that Roy is using HIS title, which he’s shared numerous times:

While this article (from last year) is based around comments by Jenny Blake, the greater point is about selective rationalization and the very flawed “you weren’t in the room” defense amongst biased comic book consumers:

Interesting aside from Susan Loeb who, as a 22 year old Marvel employee in the late 60/early 70s was asked to take a “writing test” by seeing how she’d ghost an installment of ‘Stan’s Soapbox’.

Perhaps it’s nothing but I found it interesting in spite of what we know today regarding… ghosts.
