🔴 After La Liga backed down, it's time for Italian football bosses to admit that playing on the other side of the world is crazy...
🔴 Parma fans joined the many others in vocal opposition - the banner reads: 'Shall we bring families back to the stadium... in Australia?'
October 28, 2025 at 10:58 AM
🔴 The BBC ask 'who wants a 64 team World Cup?' - the answer is almost no one who isn't a money hungry football exec!
🔴 Fans know that football glory is precious bc it's fleeting, we don't want endless expansion!
🔴 Football needs to defend itself from climate crisis, not fantasise about more growth 🌍

How many Sunday League matches have been cancelled in England this weekend? ☔️ How many kids’ matches? 🤔

They don’t make headlines. But they matter ⚽️

When top football embraces polluters, all of football pays the price for the more extreme climate they’re driving us into 😬

Totally normal goings on in 2025 😬🤢🫣

🔴Two back to back news items, that offer an important warning for FIFA and 2030 World Cup organisers 👇

🔴 It's time to take this threat seriously. It's time to kick out the big polluters fuelling the fire 🌡️

A year out from the front of shirt ban, gambling sponsors still dominate 👇

Let’s make sure a tidal wave of polluting brands doesn’t come in place of betting companies next year ⚽️

One antisocial category must not be replaced by another 🤔

Chase, part of JP Morgan Chase, is the world’s worst funder of fossil fuels 😬

The positive image and impact of the Lionesses shouldn’t be used to sportswash for Chase 🤔

The FA have had a more ethical banking partner before, time to demand an upgrade again! 💪
July 22, 2025 at 3:16 PM
Nationwide 😍 > Chase 🤢

The Lionesses deserve an ethical banking sponsor not the world's largest fossil funder!

Play suspended due to dangerous weather for a sixth time in this tournament 😬

Fans told to shelter inside, but what happens next year when the stands are actually full? 🤔

The CWC has underlined the obvious: there’s no football without safe places to play 🌎

Cristiano Ronaldo’s new oil funded contract is reportedly worth $675m 😳

While the Loss and Damage Fund to help poorer countries harmed by climate disasters has received contributions totalling $358m 😕

That’s around 0.1% of the $300 billion estimated annual cost of disaster related losses 😬

FIFA are you paying attention?

Vicious June heat waves in the US and now Spain make the threat to summer World Cups crystal clear 👇 😬
June 26, 2025 at 4:32 PM
From heat to storms, extreme weather has marked this tournament ⚽️

Today, one game was suspended for lightning while the other played out in 40 degrees 😬

FIFA cannot run from reality. Safe conditions for their major comps are getting rarer 📉

And promoting polluters is part of this problem 🤦
June 24, 2025 at 9:03 PM
What will it take for FIFA to get real about extreme heat?

🔴 Concerned players refusing to take the field?

🔴 Rows of empty seats as fans stay home?

🔴 Another referee collapsing?

🔴 The heat index spiking even higher?

Or will the allure of fossil fuel money always win out? 🤔

🚨 Extreme Heat Forecast Upgraded!

Bayern v. Benfica is now predicted to take place in 41C(107F) 😬

There are serious concerns for the health and safety of players and fans 😕

FIFA is trying to ignore this threat, but their 'business as usual' approach to our climate won't outrun the heat 🏃
June 23, 2025 at 12:26 PM
There are serious concerns for the matches at the no-shade stadium in Charlotte 😳

Real Madrid v. Pachua - 16:00 kick-off - forecast 38C/101F 🫣

Bayern v. Benfica - 16:00 kick-off - forecast 41C/105F 😬

A dangerous heat wave is coming for the Club World Cup 👇

Host cities facing “extreme” risk as high temperatures and humidity combine to push heat index past 38C/101F 📈

Which matches and venues are most likely to be hit?

What is FIFA doing to mitigate risks?

Does anything stand out about these images of heat exhausted PSG + Atletico players? 🤔

It's a perfect demo of football's crazy approach to climate risks 🌍

Cooling breaks and towels, while clubs proudly promote the oil state airlines making the planet hotter and hotter every year ✈️📈

Supporters will be exposed to the heat of the day, and not just because of kick-offs…

But because FIFA have selected no-shade stadiums!

Last year fans reportedly sheltered in concourses 🏃

They may be forced to again, if temperatures rise in venues like Orlando's (average June high 33C / 91F) 👇
June 13, 2025 at 9:49 AM
It was 32C and humid when Panjoj collapsed 🌤️

But recent temperatures records show it could get much hotter 📈

A year ago, it was 37C / 99F in Charlotte 😳

What will happen if a 3PM kickoff meets a heat wave in this stadium? 😬
June 13, 2025 at 9:49 AM
A year ago, US hosted Copa America was marked by dangerous heat 🗽

Assistant referee, Humberto Panjoj, collapsed mid game in front of shocked fans 🫣

Furious players blamed the 5PM kick-off and said ‘you wouldn’t wish the conditions on your worst enemy’ 😳

So did FIFA learn a lesson?
