That's the binding done! Still a lot of quilting to go but now it's useable and I don't have to worry about the edges fraying while I'm working on it.

Still working on quilting this by hand, by I've got far enough that it's stable and I've decided to add the binding. That way I can use it even if it's not finished 😂 have machine sewn the front half on and now just need to hand stitch the back down.

Currently on Thirteen Ways to Kill Lulabelle Rock by Maud Wolf. About 2/3 through and good fun/intriguing so far.

A little Margaret McDonald inspired textile sketch. Trying to work on my needle turn applique.

Really love these tucks. Made by using a really narrow/short zigzag stitch at the edge of each tuck. 👌 🧶

Final video showing the window and transparency.

Blue sky doesn't allow mixed media posts or multiple videos so adding a couple posts - I left a window in the middle for the transparent tucks, to play with light like Begum's work.

It's my first proper day off in weeks so I'm playing with a different idea for my Rana Begum study (finally!)

This week I have finished a major embroidery project, developed, manufactured, and shipped a kit for said project (which sold out preorders!), written two uni assignments worth 60% of my module mark, spent a day at Fringe and also attended my day job.

I'm knackered & cannot wait for next weekend.

It's nearly there! #F1

The preorder DIY kits have sold out 🤯 but I'll be restocking around the end of the month

Managed to get in around 6 hours stitching working on this the last couple days and it's making real progress! Hoping I can get it together in time to put the DIY kit in my shop end of this month 😁 #F1

It's not pretty but I repaired the cover of one of my favourite chairs today! Just some thicker interfacing and a bunch of zigzag stitch until the hole was filled haha.

The things I do for our museums 😂 spending my evening hand drawing a vintage Co-op logo, vectorising it, turning it into a stencil with the Cricut and painting it onto "vintage" crates for some exhibition set dressing #DHMakes

Trying to get copper wire straight is impossible with the tools I have 😂 it's not as structured/neat as I'd like but thats the first of these put together. Making a hanging mobile inspired by Rana Begum's sprayed bars.

Working on something new this weekend! First time using tulle and rolled hems, love finding projects where I get to learn new techniques. #DHMakes

Although it's difficult having our service so understaffed, I do love it means I get to use all my different skills and do things like sew bespoke sleeve fillings for this dress ready for display.

I'm guessing there's some historic dress tags as this dress is lovely but I don't know what they are!
