At forRefugees we stand with people displaced, dehumanised and silenced. And we stand with those who stand with them.

Today, that means standing with Gary Lineker.

One mistake doesn’t erase a lifetime of humanity. We know Gary to be a principled ally to refugees, and an inspiration to many.

Mainstream radio presenters like Vanessa Feltz are perfectly happy to contribute, in their own small way, to the rise of the extreme far right.

Her interview with me on LBC just now was chock full of lies. Calls herself a journalist.
Really I wonder how they sleep at night.

“Deporting” someone is sending them back to their country where they are free to live as citizens.

What that asshole is doing is NOT deportation.

It’s kidnapping and human trafficking. It’s illegally sending people to USA-funded off shore concentration camps.

The experiences in this story are horrific but not uncommon. Our clinicians have repeatedly warned that the squalid conditions and substandard food in asylum hotels are causing profound harm to the men, women and children placed there.

This MUST change.

At a time when migrants are being routinely scapegoated, it’s vital we come together to build share info, build strategies and #StandUpSpeakOut

We should be proud that we’re a country that can protect people from torture, persecution and death. #RefugeesWelcome
Listening to politicians talk about asylum seekers it sounds like their one & only purpose is to keep people out.

Which of you is not too much of a coward to say: it is GOOD that people escape from danger.

And it is GOOD that the UK can be a place of sanctuary, actually.
