Hey so, today is my last day at Crystal Dynamics apparently. I joined the company in 2018 to work on Marvel's Avengers and it's been the longest (and best) job I've ever had. It now means I'm looking for work, so if you know of any senior writer/narrative designer positions please send them my way.

Wholly recommended. Ken is a fantastic friend and writer.
the best of Ken Hite's 'Suppressed Transmission' column was rigorously irresponsible fabulism worthy of his inspirations: Tim Powers, Avram Davidson, Charles Fort... KEN WRITES ABOUT STUFF ably extends the line but w/tighter focus on TTRPG playability. Hite is incredible, buy this.
The Ken Writes About Stuff Bundle is live on Bundle of Holding! Collect Kenneth Hite’s acclaimed essays and expansions for Trail of Cthulhu, exploring mythos secrets, occult weirdness and monstrous inspiration. A must for horror GMs. #TTRPG #TrailofCthulhu

An excellent article, featuring quotes from @benriggs.bsky.social @bdavewalters.bsky.social & @aabria.bsky.social.
The far right is obsessed with Lord of the Rings and Musk keeps posting about "hobbits" because modern scientific racism owes more to fantasy worlds and gaming systems than genetic science, and they see both as effective mediums for right-wing propaganda www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

Written into a corner with an IP? That's the fun stuff! That's the challenge! That's what you get paid for! :)
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Can't speak to this book, but DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN has become, I think, my very favorite "mainstream" comic. Even more than Miller's "Dark Knight Returns" or "Batman: Year One."

(Among many other things, it's a pretty realistic depiction of severe depression/mental illness.)

If 10% of my business was based on defrauding and scamming people, and was called a "pillar of the global fraud economy", I would have some serious moral qualms about my business. Not our friends at Meta though.

I had a great time at M+DEV this weekend with my son Pat, who volunteered at the show. Folks enjoyed my talk about how to make a living as a freelancer, and I loved catching up with old friends and making new ones. Ben Kvalo and his crew at Wisconsin Games Alliance did a wonderful job with it.

40 men Trump sent to CECOT tell the NYT they were beaten, tortured, and sexually assaulted. The details are worse than you can imagine.

We can’t let them get away with this. Miller and the other architects of this sadism need to go to prison.

new document retention "policy" just dropped
DHS confirmed it has stopped automatically storing officials' text messages.

Instead, officials are supposed to take a screenshot, send that to their work email, download it onto their work computer and run a text-recognition program on it. Every time.
