Why is this so hard? Due process is the only thing stopping this gov't from deporting you, me, anyone. How do I prove I'm a citizen? Due process. How do I prove I'm not a criminal? Due process. Eliminate that, and the gov't can simply assert whatever it wants.

That they weren’t aware of this — or they were and just didn’t care — before shipping people to an offshore gulag is just pure, concentrated evil. People need to go to prison for this.
