Our statement on the voluntary departure of Farmworker leader Alfredo 'Lelo' Juarez Zeferino is now live on our blog. Read the full text along with Lelo's letter to his supporters at www.foodjustice.org/blog

The attack on Lelo coincides with an expansion of the exploitative H2A program. Similarly, the DOC-ICE pipeline disproportionately impacts immigrants & refugees like Tek who are often survivors of the school to prison pipeline.
July 14, 2025 at 3:00 PM
Juarez was violently detained in March. He is an internationally recognized farmworker, immigrant rights organizer, as well as one of the founders of the farmworker union FUJ.

We believe that he was targeted because of his role as a vocal advocate for the labor rights of indigenous farmworkers.

Join us in-person! If you are not able to attend:

"In many countries, fossil fuel subsides provide critical support to low-income and working-class people... As such, any workable program to phase out fossil fuel subsidies must also be committed to enacting alternative measures to maintain support for working people and the poor."
