Two versions of the #Switch2 in Japan. ¥50K for a region and language locked model. ¥70K for the same model they sell in the US. How much faith do I have in my Japanese ability… is ¥20K worth the pain of my slow reading skills? Will the cheaper model improve my reading speed?? Too many questions

Woke up at 5:30AM just to experience Ueno Park’s sakura trees before work, without hordes of people. Definitely the most effort I’ve ever put into looking at flowers but I think it was worth it!

Keio Line between Meidaimae and Shinjuku is so confusing. Most trains (incl. express trains) take the branch New Line and stop at Hatagaya and Hatsudai, except the… *checks notes* local train. Which actually bypasses those two stations and heads direct from Sasazuka to Shinjuku.

Seeing all the political news coming from the US today (wrt the attack on trans & nonbinary people), my mind flashed to the image of one of the promotional posters for Princess Mononoke that I saw as a child back in 1997 with the copy 「生きろ。」 ("Live."). (The copy is written as an imperative.)

Programmers are among the biggest expenses for large tech companies (which already have huge margins). So CEOs coming out and saying “AI engineers are the future, we won’t need humans anymore” is probably just an attempt to devalue the cost of one of their biggest expenses in the short term.
