This November 3rd, 2025, Fodongo: A Free-Culture Comics Zine turns 2 years old!

To celebrate this momentous occasion I would like to CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR A LA RANA eZINE. "La Rana" is this weird creature below.

If you don't have the spoons or time to do a full comic, send me a La Rana drawing or illustration to the same email! It will be included in the celebration.

Their comic will be published on the Fodongo website, as well as on a special La Rana Bonanza eZine. This eZine will be available on the geesegoose.ca store, on a pay-if-you-want basis, same as the other Fodongo zines, and all revenue will be distributed among participating artists.

- You have until end-of-day FEBRUARY 28th, 2026 to send in your submission.

**What you get**

All Bonanza Participants will receive a digital copy of Fodongo: An-All Ages Free-Culture Comic Collection (Now in Living Colour!!).

Send your .png images as well as your .kra / .psd / .clip files to fodongo@jectoons.net with the subject "LA RANA BONANZA SUBMISSION". Please include:
- The name you want to sign as.
- Your pronouns
- Your website/portfolio
- A short bio

- Must be released under a Free-Culture License. This can be WTFPL, MIT-0, MIT or Free Art License, though CC0, CCBY and CCBYSA are also acceptable. Questions about these? Ask me at the email provided below!

3. ONE ENTRY PER PERSON PLEASE.

2. The story can be anything you want, in any genre, style or medium, as long as it ends up in comic form. Some guidelines are in order, though:
- No hate
- No porn
- No gore
- No AI generated images

**Guidelines**

1. Create a 3-page comic in black and white featuring la Rana. Use the template provided below. You can check out its previous adventure or any of the Fodongo Covers to gather inspiration! The sillier the better.

This character is released under a CC0 License, a dedication to the Public Domain, so you can use it whichever way you like!

It is my intention to put together a zine full of La Rana stories.

Things for everyone to use, learn from, derive from, remix, etc. So far I think we are succeeding: to this day there's 19 issues, 77 comics: that is, over 260 pages of Free-Culture comics. We want to make more and we need you.

It will be fun, and we hope you participate with either a comic or an illustration! Go! Check out the guidelines!

Fodongo is a labour of love. It is a reader supported publication, and an attempt at supporting the artists that make our comics. It is also an attempt at creating a commons of comics.

We want to make more comics for you! We are nearing the end of the Second Batch of zines: next issue is no. 20, which is scheduled to come out next week (maybe Monday, maybe Wednesday, we'll see!), and after that only four more issues separate us from the fabled Third Batch.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for supporting this endeavour -- especially at this point in time, your attention, interest and care for this project and the artists who make it possible is extremely valuable. I'll say it again: Thank you for believing in this. In us.
