It has become abundantly clear that the only viable path for meaningful change is to primary as many incumbents as possible.

Senator, with all due respect, victory next November doesn’t mean much when it represents continuing the current state of democratic strategy and leadership. It is demoralizing to repeatedly hear about the importance of voting for this group when we’re continually let down between these elections.

I don’t disagree. I also think academia really needs to establish some standards with LLMs and citations. If I end up publishing something with the help of a robot I won’t cite the robot much in the same way I won’t cite a computer or a program. I WILL cite those authors though.

That’s how scientific publication works. Its sole function is to disseminate information.

Does this mean it’s a net benefit for humanity? Probably not. Does it mean OpenAI is worth a trillion dollars? Certainly not!

That said, it’ll take me a week to validate the tool, but it would have taking me a month to build the same thing from scratch. It also gave me good ideas for added functionality and fidelity.

The best analogy I’ve heard about LLMs is that they’re like Uranium. Incredibly powerful in the right hands, incredibly dangerous in the wrong. The other day I fed chatGPT a dozen or so papers and had it write a physics modeling tool in Matlab. It worked!

Isn’t this the same demand they made over a month ago?
