You're right, it breaks down when you examine individuals within the administration, but as a whole, I think the administration's guiding light is corruption; it has made deals with members for whom the ideology is paramount, though

It’s as if there’s some sort of unwritten rule at major outlets that only shootings that help the fascist narrative get coverage; shootings that run against the fascist narrative are left in the rear view mirror as soon as possible

These guys really need to realize that, even if it's easier to negotiate with only one of the combatants in the war, they really can't achieve a peace agreement unless they negotiate with both combatants
