There's always some idiots who fall for the aesthetics/propaganda. Don't get me wrong, it was always Nazi-adjacent, but not necessarily indicative of commitment to that political cause.

Eh, "the SS were badass" was certainly an extant strain of thought that didn't universally mean that the person in question was more than just a particularly annoying wehraboo.

The thing is that the argument should be "the economy is doing great, so we can afford to help those left behind". I dont think anyone sane is arguing that there's no poverty.
