To me one row of sock yarn is hardly a noticeable difference, I"d definitely leave it. I hate going backwards though.

Oh, finally, high achieving and inclusive, rounded ethos are not necessarily opposed! I found the discourse can be a bit overly binary and i easily got caught up in that.

Easy school run and local friends is a big plus also.

So it is a real multi-factor juggle.

I found it reassuring to like the school ethos and trust my little ones were in good hands when i dropped them off. But you never know exactly how it will all unfold

FWIW, academic attainment at primary doesnt matter much as long as they can read, understand numbers and enjoy learning if possible? Unless you later wanted a selective secondary - but those kids seem to be tutored endlessly whatever primary school they are in.

The competitive parents around school choice thing is literally the second worst thing about london (after house prices)! So stressful. So I think my main thing is not to get too stressed about the decision (I know easier said than done). It's really hard to predict the future, primary kids are fab

Well said. The framing in the UK that we should poach fleeing US academics with glee is really grim for our precarious junior colleagues who face a disastrous labour market. I expect US-trained folks will get a lot of the paltry jobs but the hegemony is not great.
