Dont read the guardian’s interview with Esther Ghey it neglects any discussion of transphobia and instead focuses on the dangers of online in quite a victim-blamy way its quite upsetting to read

Irresponsible from The Guardian to use a photo of completely legal and fully insured e-scooter rental services to illustrate a story about privately owned scooters operated illegally

This has long been my conviction about LLMs. They're going to get worse! For the same reason the information environment in general is getting worse. There's just vastly more misinformation out there, and trustworthy information is harder and harder to find and verify
The other thing people seem not to understand is LLMs hallucinations aren't the only issue. They don't have objective knowledge, they're predicting text based on their training data. And their training data (the internet) is rapidly degrading due to LLM generated content displacing quality research.

It's probably right that she was cleared of racism

But there were still some details revealed in this case which make her seem like a complete arsehole

Greasy etonian twat says that 'low paid workers' don't 'genuinely contribute'

A migrant working in an Amazon warehouse has contributed more to this country before the end of their first shift than these think tank tossers will in their whole lives
Me: We let in way too many low-paid workers and non-paying dependents, we need to reform the rules so that only those who genuinely contribute can stay here permanently.

Jonathan: EnOcH PoWeLL!!!!!!
"Hence the urgency of implementing now the second part of the Conservatives policy - the encouragement of re-emigration."

Wait - that's not @rcolvile.bsky.social below (though it's what he's arguing).

It's Powell's Rivers of Blood speech.

I disagree with this review

There are plenty of shows that do try and shoehorn in "culture wars" issues and don't handle it well

but Unforgotten isn't one of them, one of the shows strengths is it's writing and the depth it puts in to it's suspect characters

thing is about AI is that it’s just tacitly expressing that everything we do is basically so meaningless that a machine can do it. “Hey man you don’t really care about this message to your retired colleague, do you? Who gives a fuck right? Just switch your brain off and let the machine do it”

We have and we like it
I keep writing about this but honestly I don't think many people in Bristol have grasped the scale of the massive transformation that is about to happen to the city

"on trans"

They're people Lewis
Abrasive and unpleasant on trans. Astute appeal to black voters. Less astute to surround yourself with the richest oligarchs in America.

But as a piece of politics, Trump absolutely knows who his voters are, what his theory of the case is and is generally extremely clear about what he'll do.

Thank you to Greater Manchester Police for helping keep vulnerable road users safe from this.

There's a reason Tesla Cybertrucks are not legal in the UK and Europe; Cybertrucks present acute dangers to pedestrians and don’t meet European safety standards.

The vehicle has been seized.
