I feel weird about BambuLab...
I do not like them due to how closed-source their printers are and how awful politics the company pushes.
I like them bcs it just works. I had 0 failed prints. 0 errors. 0 problems setting it up. No need to troubleshoot anything and even a total dum-dum can use it.

WinBoat is almost perfect. To make it perfect (especially for creators and people new to Linux) "only" two things are needed really.

Then there is literally 0 reasons to stay on Windows for ANYONE.

Raspberry Pi 500+ or a DIY Pi5 based tablet is in my opinion the best choice for a first computer for your kids.
+ Powerful enough for basic stuff
+ No spying from big corpos
+ Cheap and easy to replace broken insides
+ Encouraging kids to tinker and explore how computers works both HW and SW

Not a single corpo is your friend nor values you to begin with. If a corpo, out of the blue, says or appears to actually care about their customers it smells really fishy, something is going on, and you should be careful, and sceptical.

I also had a bunch of old floppies lying around so I decided “feck it, I will make my own physical game/software/script launcher.” Sooo I did. Will make a video about it soon lol. TLDR: I insert a floppy, stuff happens.

I have a love/hate relationship with UX design. I love making stuff accessible and usable but I hate making stuff easy. Making everything as easy as possible just makes people really stupid. Like dayum. Most people these days have no idea how files work and what they are. Not filesystems. Files…

How it is possible that these mega corps cannot (or better said don’t want to) create an operating system and services that can just reliably download and copy files from their own cloud solution to an external drive formatted with their own filesystem?
