I think we need to understand that Arcane is a lot of people’s first fandom. Like bruh one time I heard someone say that Dom Jayce is a racist rep of a poc man💀 like if you don’t like Jayce being represented in that way that’s fine but straight up labelling it as racist is too much

Can I just add that there is a reason why I wished the mage should have been someone else? The thing is, because Viktor was the mage, not only it changed the over all message of the story, where a poor guy from Zaun was turned into a caricature villain, it also tied Jayce’s story to Viktor. Like—

The amount of times I have seen people act like the world is ending because Jayce is not portrayed as the perfect bottom puppy… like my man literally became a corrupt politician in just a few days of his political career, let him be problematic

Yes. But I think as we are getting new gen in fandom spaces, they very clearly missed their wattpad phase coz of which they become morality police. They will attack m/m shippers out of nowhere & demand m/f or f/f content from them & when they are refused they will call m/m shippers misogynists.

So true. Not to mention the causal use of heavy words like “misogyny” by such fans. One time I saw a racist fanart of Caitlyn & someone commented “probably a misogynist fujo made it” like bestie calling all m/m shippers inherently misogynists will not make your favourite m/f or f/f ship famous

the fandom can dress it up all they want as a “soft epilogue” but the overall consensus that these two insane men need to be defined into the roles of husband and wife with a happy ending that coincidentally fits conservative propaganda w/ multiple bio children…it’s weird and should be questioned!!
