Ok #knitsky, I’ve been trying to ID this ball of yarn I’ve had since forever (it used to be two very floppy skeins, I combined them) and yarnsub is unfortunately not pulling through. The texture of the yarn says Red Heart; more info in alt text

A large ball of yarn I’ve had since forever, only recently rediscovered a couple months back. It is a multi-colored yarn with light pink, pink, mauve, and then brown. It’s 4-ply, and as I said, the texture is reminiscent of Red Heart acrylic yarn. Yarnsub said it *could* be Super Saver Stripes, which was discontinued (which tracks due to how long ago I first bought it), but the pattern reminds me of another yarn, maybe ombre? Or perhaps With Love? Pictures online have not been helping since Joann’s shut down unfortunately.. A small amount of the yarn in question, unspooled to better show off the colors. (Brown, Mauve/Pinky-purple, pink, light pink). The reason I’m so desperate to ID this is because I wanna register it in my Ravelry stash, lol. 🧶 (Yarn ball emoji).

Cosplayers, I have a small problem: my witch hat (which I bought 3-ish years ago for like $5 at a Spirit Halloween) is looking a bit bland and flat. I have some ideas on how to fix the blandness, but I would like your input to help it stay upright. Clarification in alt text
Black generic witch hat, flattened. It stands up but tends to fall flat during wear. The top half of the hat is supported by a thin, cheap foam cone of sorts The underside of the same hat, with the foam cone showing. Since the hat is all black, it might be hard to see everything, but I think you can see what I’m working with in this lighting. The hat in its full glory. It has a bow and some basic decorative embroidery, but it’s all black so it’s hard to see without proper lighting

#knitsky #knitting 🧶 Ok, I’m trying to knit socks for the very first time and I have a question: how do I calculate the num of stitches I should cast on? I did my gauge swatch, I looked up some equations online, and I can’t join them together so I can knit in the round (more info in the alt text)
Yarn: Sachenmayer Regia PAIRFECT yarn, colorway is Erika, I got it from the discount bin at my LYS; supposedly makes knitting a matching pair of socks as foolproof as you can get. Needles: It’s hard to see in this lighting, but above the yarn are a set of steel double pointed needles (DPN). Specifically the Chiao Goo Red series in size 2.75 millimeters (I have a bad habit of tossing out labels, so I don’t know the exact name; apologies foe those who are interested)

Ok cat question: how do I get my cat to use a scratching board, and what are your recommendations? I ask because my cat scratched me (I’m fine, he had a vet visit yesterday so his shots are in order) and while I could trim his claws, I would rather not. More info in the Alt text
My cat, Hermes, laying on my bed. He used to be an outdoor cat, hence the shots, but now he’s becoming an indoor cat and sleeping on my bed. I used to play with him all the time when he was a kitten, which is why he’s so close to me. He scratched me because I interrupted one of his naps and he thought I wanted to play; his claws are fairly sharp though. He’s an American shorthair, with brownish black fur and black stripes. He’s has green eyes
