I like Ed Davey. I think he's a decent politician. Sadly, he's not a great speaker and this conference speech is like a middle class tea and biscuits session. I was hoping there would be some fight in this, but it feels....well...weak.

I've got withdrawal symptoms after a week spent in Milan. Why the fuck did we ever leave the EU? And with everything going on in politics now, I feel like packing up and finding somewhere to quietly sink into the fabric on life in a village somewhere in Italy.

I'm enjoying the Women's rugby world cup. Entertaining Scotland game this afternoon. The ball looks enormous for the players though. Apparently there's been discussion on using a 4.5 size ball which would make sense.

Why are Avanti West Coast so obsessed with having people queue? Both at Euston and Glasgow, it's always a queue to get onto the platform. Seems really odd.
