The plans the WH is considering are not those seen in other high-income countries that aim to facilitate work & childrearing. They are not investing in childcare infrastructure or paid parental leave programs.
They want to return to a time when women were dependent on men.

Shutting down Head Start might seem at odds with the administration's pronatalist aims. But they're actually closely aligned. Because moms who can't find/afford childcare often end up leaving the workforce. And once they're home full-time, it often seems reasonable to have more kids.

Attacking Black joy is straight out of the white supremicist playbook. Dismantling oppression and racism and the systemic structures that uphold them is right there. But Boots On The Ground is a bridge too far.
And people need to stop making disengaging cool! Especially Black people. It's not cool you're partying & line dancing totalitarianism away. Being more vulnerable means act more, not less. It's not about shouldering white people's burdens, it's being part of the motion that transforms your world.
People need to stop trying to make disengaging into some strategic move. You didn't figure out how an administration is trying to trick you into protesting. You're just saying you don't want to take a specific action. There's a difference, and they'll move their agenda forward with or without you.
