a lot of the benefit of tricks like space jump early isn't that you can go left instead of right, it's that you dont have to come back later and go left when you were supposed to, and the rewards are usually chozo keys, e tanks and missiles. i think im coming around to prime being super linear

ultimately you still need missiles, morph ball, bombs, charge beam, varia, wave beam and boost... and they're all on a single line of progress from each other. you can get missiles early, skipping the boss, you can get ice beam early but only after youve got wave beam...

im so used to assuming early spacejump and all the other m2k2 stuff that i forget how linear prime is supposed to be. even then to be honest, the optimal path is pretty much taking the intended route but now you dont have to backtrack after boost ball

i think for a musical sting or a clever reference to Hit, the film would have had to be _about_ something. Sure people care about mario, care enough to do some craft even, but mario is emotionally empty, it's all gild on a box full of nothing, every movie is the killing joke now

hover yeah; it's anecdotal natch, but stalling out the vertical drop to get a little bit further over horizontally might make the difference if it's somehow interpreting hornet entering the gear from the side rather than above
