Chickens are assholes. They'll drop a mystery box then never deliver satisfying answers about it.

The dev modded a few retro phones so they could only call 1 number then sold em on eBay www.pcgamer.com/kentucky-rou...
Kentucky Route Zero's third free interlude is a phone call you won't forget
KRZ's third interlude is a game, an eBay listing, and an automated phone number all at once.

I would break someone's leg and watch their life crumble from debt to get my hands on one of those Kentucky Route Zero phones

Go ahead, google it. use the quotes at the ends.

"also thanks to these fine folks"

Youll get massive amounts of results of game presskits.

This is how i found oodles of games not "officially" announced.

But google alerts no longer works. And presskit() isnt used as much anymore.

The phrase that worked the most?

"also thanks to these fine folks"

It's in the credits at the bottom of every presskit() so it doesnt change per dev.

Key word is "made this page." didnt need content in it. Just had to exist on the net and allow google to scrape it. devs tend to like to get sites up for their games.

I learned about so many games long before their "official" announcements.

Helped me with research and prioritizing what to cover.

i set up alerts for code and phrases that it uses- unique phrases- so that when google sees it and alerts me, it was an actual brand new game press kit 99% of the time. Very few false positives.

So i learned about games the moment the dev made this page.

Made my job so much easier at a time when press kits were practically an afterthought for devs.

@ramiismail.com made a simple free press kit template thingy long ago that devs could put on their site, it's called presskit()

It was a fantastic tool cuz devs would include trailers, screenshots, logos and other marketing material. Devs could even set up key requests in it.

I utilized google alerts to monitor specific keywords on the internet so it would send me links. If you study the way devs talk and what tools they use, you could take advantage of that.

I used several types of alerts, but one especially was lucrative.

if Major League Baseball had a fucking spine, they'd bar the celebration of the military from all their games this season.
