For those not paying attention: OPS gets the biggest budget increases every year for some reason.
This bus was parked on the wrong side of the road, on the sidewalk, blocking the sidewalk and bike lane. I asked one of the half dozen cops standing 20 feet away to write them a ticket and he said "I prefer not writing tickets". And then just did nothing.

Ottawa, take note (especially if you live in the Red Zone).

They'll likely be winding their way downtown around 11.30 am or so.

If you live in any of the neighbourhoods that were adversely affected by the original convoy, be aware and spread the word that these dopes will be around.

The contempt the city has shown for this expensive and genuinely impressive piece of art it bought and proudly installed is just perfectly symbolic of how it treats both the public realm and its own investments.

Artist fears Lansdowne installation may become '$2 million of scrap metal'
The final Lansdowne 2.0 report recommends decommissioning the art installation Moving Surfaces because there's no budget to restore it.

The number of people that show up at a bar at gametime that get upset when they can’t get a table when a Canadian team is on the brink of winning a championship never ceases to amaze me.

What a bunch of dopes.

Regardless of what Sutcliffe thinks, Lansdowne 2.0 is not a popular project and Ottawans don't want it as it is currently being presented to us.

Have a look for yourself.

The irony of Mayor Sutcliffe calling out “myths” over his version of “facts” is something to behold. Is it a fact that “Lansdowne 2.0 will generate revenues that *will* cover 69% of the total investment”? Or is that optimism bias? Not that I’m trying to spread misinformation here.
Lansdowne 2.0 is a smart, responsible investment for Ottawa. Let’s keep moving forward. https://marksutcliffe.ca/events/2025/10/lansdowne-more-for-less

NEW- We’ve discovered 7 concerning issues with the new information on Lansdowne 2.0 released by the city just one week ago-

1) $17.4 million per year (not $4.3 million) is being carved out of Ottawa’s Budget until 2070 to pay for Lansdowne 2.0 debt ($696 million in payments).

Looks like Ford's backing down on killing rent control for pre-2017 buildings.

That doesn't mean tenants should stop organizing.

@catmckenney.bsky.social, I hope you still go forward with your Protecting Renters Townhall.

1. One of the key criticisms of the province’s report on the Ottawa LRT fiasco was related to the inappropriate proximity between the civil service and the mayor’s office. The official City of Ottawa social media account promoting a controversial project that hasn’t been approved yet by council…

It feels very inappropriate for the city’s official account to be pushing a one-sided pro-Lansdowne argument pre-council vote. Was this supposed to come from the mayor’s account?

Lansdowne 2.0 cost stays put at $419M as city reveals builder | CBC News
The City of Ottawa has named EBC Inc. as the successful bidder to build Lansdowne 2.0, as the project moves toward a final decision at council with a total cost that has barely budged in two years.

The CBC Ottawa Morning Lansdowne interview with the Mayor is wild. He just compared the way we don't require library buildings to turn a profit so we should not expect Lansdowne to make money.

Dude, the whole agreement of the waterfall agreement is to lower risk and increase revenue.

If this doesn’t sound familiar to you, you don’t really follow municipal politics.
