It doesn’t have to be set during winter, just a book that you read in winter. Mine is Name of the Rose. Not exactly a a cozy mystery, but it’s a favorite read as soon as it turns cold.

It’s been said before, but reading John O’Hara stories is like watching Max Men. Class divides, social status, alcohol, sex, usually funny, quietly tragic. Highly recommend for the bleak depiction of an inevitable self-destruction.
