Wwx, surprised that someone is talking to him: Oh! Uh. They don't really have names. I just tell them apart by their behaviour. See that one over there in the tree, watching everyone? That's their matriarch. She makes sure everyone is cared for and safe

Lwj is charmed by his gentleness with the silly birds, enough that he goes over to sit next to wwx and ask if the crows have names

He's one of them. He belongs. It's special, and it makes him happy

That's where lwj finds him one day, talking to the crows and feeding them little seeds and nuts

So when he feels lonely, like he's alone in a world full of human sound, he goes down to sit with his crow friends, listening as they tell him about their day and watching as they play silly games, encouraging him to laugh

Wwx doesn't have very many human friends. He's too weird for them, apparently. A little too loud, a little too scatterbrained, a little too smart. But to the crows, he's a friend. He's family

Sometimes the crows talk back with their little wordless sounds, making him feel like he's a part of their family

He even cries a little when the adults bring over their babies to meet him, making him feel like the most important human in the world
