Hey! I'm Felix (he/him)

I'm a game design student from Germany. I love pixelart, 3d art and mainly work in unity.

Currently obsessed with shaders!

I made a pond shader! It uses the parallax occlusion mapping node in #unity to create the depth effect. These are version one and two of the shader, let me know if you have some feedback!

I made a YouTube video!
It's about how I made a game prototype from only two words.

I animated the blade along a curve in blender but I couldn't figure out how to get that animation into unity.
#swordtember Day 3: automaton
How important is it that gears and mechanical parts make sense?

I wanted to do a post for the #swordtember automaton prompt but damn, this is taking longer than expected. Animating all the moving parts so they look correct takes forever but its sooo worth it :)
now its time for textures and shaders^^

A bit late to the party but here's my art for the
#swordtember - Day 1 - Shell!
The pearl effect was a happy accident and i really like it like this!

I wasn't really productive in between semesters but taking a break is important too. I made some pixel art today.

Just a few different types of stylised shading

I feel like this is the best i can do so far. I tried to hide the pixelated nature of a "height to normal"-map by adding a detail normal map on top of my texture. For a better footprint shape I'd probably need to add the movement into the animation directly or figure out a different placement method

Update on my Footsteps! They now not only go down but displace the ground around it a bit.
Gotta tweak the shape a bit and work on the ground texture next.

Too exited not to share^^ working on a shader for footsteps and have this guy here walking down my scene leaving marks on the floor c:

Today I worked on a fullscreen shader to create a rough paper effect and a sketchy outline. Feels nice to see myself improve from two weeks ago when outlines where still a mystery. Gotta work on the presentation a bit i think.

(pic2 without the shader for reference)

Current project. I'm learning a lot about shaders lately. For example this outline full screen shader.

I made a little scene of a jester mouse in a forest cave! I`m new to 3D animation and rigging but i made the whole character from scratch (except the outline) Sounds are from Pixabay.com #gamedev #gameart #art #3D

Working a bit on Texturing 3D Objects so that they look 2D.
Left one is Base Color Textures + a toon shader
Middle is unlit with shadows painted in the Albedo map and the right one is just a recolor with a bit of tweaking

Left and middle also have an Outline Asset.

!Flashing lights (~10sec after rain starts)! I am finally done with my little project adding Normal Maps to Unity 2D! I made a few samples for time of day and weather effects to show off the perks of this workflow. I think it looks really cool! #gamedev #gameart soundeffects are from pixabay.com

Update on my Sprites with Normal Maps. I made a small island with a painted normal map. If the ground itself has a normal map the light doesn't make much sense but if you remove the normal map it looks really nice. Next step is a small scene to really show what I've learned!

Playing around with some normal maps on sprites. It's a bit of work but the results look really cool. Sadly I don't think this is really useful in an isometric game, since in 2D space behind and on top of the object is basically the same :(
It did deepen my understanding of normal maps #gameart

Here are a few screenshots of my current big game project. My focus is on the environment design. It's coming together nicely, since I started focussing on the placement and making things look neat.
I've been working on for this semester and have time until the 15th.
