LONELY WATER (1973): Legendary child-frightener, and one of the most influential and effective PIFs ever made. Donald Pleasence's voice helped lower the number of child deaths by drowning and opened the door to the scary, deadly PIFs of the 70s & 80s. A folk horror film condensed into 90 seconds.

I briefly went back to Twitter on Thursday (I think) and within 2 hours I deactivated again. It's kind of desolate over there - lots of posts, but it reeks of mothballs. Idk how else to put it.

is it safe to assume the reason Mandelson was made ambassador to the US was out of a hope he could bond with Trump over their shared interests (both having claimed to be best friends with Jeffrey Epstein)

Yes, Peter Mandelson did write in the Epstein book, a multi-page letter with photos. Screenshots in thread.

This week Scottish Labour abstained on a motion to recognise Palestine and use boycotts divestment and sanctions against a state they admit is perpetrating genocide.

And now this. It's shameful.

Something I've noticed becoming more prevalent in anti-gaelic comments is the "oh but the Gaels were colonisers and wiped out the Picts. Thus Gaelic bad" argument. As if they wouldn't be saying that promoting the Pictish language is a sinister SNP plot, if it still existed today.

These people have to account for the deep hatred and revulsion they feel when watching others act out of sincerity, courage and compassion. It threatens and bewilders them, so they must explain it away as something they recognise and understand: moral vapidity and self-absorption

Part of the power of a denialist official narrative is in making you feel like you're going mad, a broken record, as you repeatedly insist on blatant truth and basic morality.

There is an ongoing genocide, including the large-scale massacre of children, aided by our government and country.
