London-based Aussie. Public Affairs at AoC. Reader and perpetually searching for a decent oat cappuccino in London.

I'm always ready to chat FE, skills, books, travel recs and where to find the best pastries in London. All posts and opinions my own.
I was forced to make do at the conference center - the vies made up for it! Though found a lovely spot called Maravi in town for an excellent coffee and blueberry crumble muffin this morning - highly recommend!

As a teen raised by a single dad, I directly benefited from having my dad undertake a similar type of training scheme in Aus after years of unemployment & disability.

Would I be where I am now had these programmes not existed? Frankly probably not. They matter more than any forecast can tell you.

Don't get me wrong - there is still work to be done!

But this willingness of parliamentarians to engage and understand their local providers makes for deeper and more meaningful debate and encourages me from a public affairs perspective that the work we all are doing does have impact.
