I was recently reminded that when I left uni the Star was "the" place all the journalists wanted to work. Now it's mainly just spelling mistakes and AI slop.

Some people's total lack of self awareness is astounding.

One of the suggestions in this article about how to improve an impoverished area is to create a public dump, literally 5 minutes drive from the council one... If this is the level of laziness then we have no hope at all.

Tumbleweed for our other Sheffield sports stars.

The hill climb is such a British sport.

Already on the case... Twice.

When did journalism become such a care free profession?

Manchester bike lanes ❤️

Two out of town gigs in two days. This time for the Melvins. I am a shadowy husk of my former self.

Was worried that 30 years after their biggest album, the Smashing Pumpkins might be past their best. I was very very wrong. I've been to hundreds of shows & this was absolute top notch.

Dropped into an alleged cycle friendly cafe today, parked the bikes like this and some old fart comes up and tells me "if someone trips over them there, they'll sue you". What possesses someone to say something as stupid as that?

Got an email from an old crowd finding platform asking me to buy mini shares in SpaceX. I unsubscribed.

Today I will mostly be being a massive map nerd.

So... That UK age verification thing is going well.

Does your city look as good as Sheffield did yesterday evening?

Custom manhole covers - Yay

Wasted space alert!!! By closing off this junction not only could you create a traffic free green space of ~4800m² (30% bigger than Pounds park) but also realocate the slip road to the bus lane & remove 4 sets of lights meaning smother traffic flow all without restricting access to the estate.

I often wish articles like this would use Channel 5 base units... £20m sounds a lot but it's less than 130m (422 foot) of dual carriageway funding a year when you split it between the 25 areas. Not so big of a number now is it?

Pavement parking: banned in Sheffield (city centre) for over 12 months but rife in the suburbs where oversized vanity vehicles rule.
June 25, 2025 at 9:28 AM
Sheffield 2020 Vs today: I don't think people realise how incompetent Sheffield council's legacy will be.
June 24, 2025 at 2:40 PM
Anyone who drives past this shouldn't have a licence because either their eyesight is crap, they don't understand the rules of the road, they aren't paying attention or they are just an entitlement nob end.

The cars are out there, they just don't sell. The VW Up and Toyota Aygo are both only slightly bigger than the original mini but include far more safety features.
May 30, 2025 at 12:55 PM
Or that the original mini would basically fit inside a new mini.
