Poorest 10% of households paid 48% of income in tax; richest 10% paid 39%.

Poorest 10% paying 12% of income in VAT; richest 10% pay 3%.

Council tax: Poorest 10% paying 7%; richest 10% pay 1.2%.

Oil & gas companies found to be causing far higher climate-wrecking methane emissions than they admit to

This happens in the UK N Sea too. A 2023 study took actual measurements in the N Sea and found methane leaks were 5 times higher than the outdated estimates used by the UK Gov.

We have always relied on the oil and gas industry to self-report methane emissions. Now we have independent ways to of measuring those emissions and it turns out they were lying about the emissions. By a lot. The blue lines are actual measurements. The pink are industry numbers.
