A Film History Podcast hosted by @blackkrystel.bsky.social & @unclespaceghost.bsky.social about all of your favorites new & old!

Every episode, we take on a new film, the historical context behind it, how it came together, and everything in between!

Some Monday Movie Magic!

DID YOU KNOW:

In 1990's Total Recall, the only CGI used is the X-Ray Scanner at the Spaceport. Every other effect, including the Mars Train zoom, was done practically.

For the train window, reverse projection was used a la the landing scene in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Alright #FilmSky, for our Sunday Feature, we're getting ready to do a lecture this evening on Jim Sheridan's In the Name of the Father from 1993. When we scheduled it, we could not possibly have known how relevant the story of Gerry Conlon, the Guildford Four, and the Maguire Seven would be today.

Happy Birthday to Jessica Lange!

Have to give her her flowers for playing one of the greatest depictions of the Angel of Death ever put to screen in Bob Fosse's All That Jazz
