An international research team has successfully drilled and retrieved a 9,186-foot-long (2,800-meter-long) ice core from Antarctica that dates back 1.2 million years. The sample extended so deep that it reached the bedrock beneath the Antarctic Ice Sheet.

Microsoft has just unveiled a tool that allows you to convert Office files into Markdown—something I never expected to see. Interestingly, Google added Markdown export to Google Docs a few months back as well. Markdown is great and this a good thing.

This is the way. WebAssembly > Native Addons. For tons of reasons.
(1) V8 is a JS and WASM engine. Perf implications here
(2) Easier to port outside of Node.js
(3) No need to precompile for every arch/os/libc/etc. combo
(4) Smaller packages
(5) Many more....

I've spent half a day chasing a segfault... in a native addon :(.
I *really* prefer when tools use wasm vs native bindings whenever possible (thanks to rollup for having a native build).

The AI era is going to be tough on new grads over the next few years for two reasons.
The problem with LLMs is they blur facts and fiction, and it takes experience and expertise to catch their errors. So you need fewer junior people doing entry level tasks but more senior proof readers.
