The President of the United States unilaterally levied a tax on all of us and is redistributing our taxes to a core segment of his supporters.
Trump: "I'm delighted to announce this afternoon that the US will be taking a small portion of the hundreds of billions of dollars we receive in tariffs ... and we're going to be giving and providing it to the farmers in economic assistance. We love our farmers. The farmers like me ... $12 billion"

What?

All that proves is the oversight and conditions put onto existing welfare benefits have zero positive impact on reducing crime.

Also that UBI delivered with a clawback rate vs no clawback is equally effective either way.

This is a very strong pro-UBI conclusion.

We also have a large dataset from SSI, where a change in the program meant that a lot of kids lost it at age 18 when others kept it. Those groups were compared and crime went up so much among those who lost the monthly income that the money saved by paying fewer people was nulled by the crime costs.

The people in this administration who love to call themselves Christians and Americans demonstrate every single day why they're really not either one.
Sadism is the lifeblood of MAGA, and US government agencies are sanctioning this as an operating principle on a daily basis:

Like once a week I see someone on the subway with, like, a $10,000 Leica hanging around their neck or an Hermes shopping bag on their arm and I am continually amazed by how difficult it is to get robbed in this city
New York City went 12 days without a murder in November / December. That's tied for the longest stretch in history, according to the NYPD. As someone who was here when there were 6+ murders per day in this town, it continues to amaze me how safe the place is.
