Thats a lovely way to think of it! It's nice to see evidence of other ways of being through fanworks. A plus rather than a problem.

But on the more generous side, I would guess (novel?) sensory detail is a pretty common feature. Lol or maybe just too many respiratory action words. Can't take the science out of the scientist.

😅 as a new writer, my dialogue carries too many of my own verbal quirks. It's hard to notice the sentence structures native to our personal deployment of language.

Not fun to hear from a supervisor! My sympathies. I don't know this venue so i really have no idea what the reviewers will demand. Just 🤞🤞 till January.
