The rifle in question is either a sporterized WWII rifle or a dedicated hunting rifle. Either way, you could not break it apart and reassemble it at a moments notice, or fit it into a day pack.

Not easy and it requires tools. Even than, at least the barrel/action would stick out. WWII GIs had to cut down their trophy rifle stocks yo fit into a duffel back.
